Ramadan 2019 (1440 Hijri)
Mosque Open Houses All Across South Florida
The Islamic Holy Month of Ramadan will begin on May 5th, or May 6th, depending on the sighting of the moon. For exact start date, click here to search by location, and contact the Islamic center nearest to you.
Ramadan is the most holy month for the Islamic calendar, being the month in which the message of Islam – the Quran – began its revelation from God. Throughout this month, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset each day, and many attend the masjid (mosques) to perform additional prayers in the nighttime. It is a time of deep spiritual growth and strengthening for Muslims, by way of additional acts of worship of God Almighty, and also by way of strengthened resolve to abstain from sin.
