Jewish Voice for Peace South Florida presents an evening of Learning for Liberation on June 5, 2022, from 5-6:30 PM at Paradis Books and Bread (12831 W Dixie Hwy North Miami, FL— we will be gathering outside). Co-sponsored by the South Florida Coalition for Palestine, this program is dedicated to the memory of Shireen Abu Akleh, a Palestinian journalist and US citizen who was killed by Israel in May 2022.
Featuring visuals, video clips, poetry, stories, and readings, Learning for Liberation will explore the history of the Nakba (“catastrophe” in Arabic) and the contemporary movement for Palestine through an introduction to the eight session Palestinian Nakba curriculum (created by Project48 in partnership with PARCEO). We will also discuss our campaign against the ongoing Nakba and other ways to support the movement for justice and liberation in Palestine.
