United Against Hate: Community Leaders and Elected Officials Meet-up
In the wake of 2024 SOFLO Muslim Conference cancellation by Marriott Coral Springs, Muslim community leaders have been holding meetings with leaders and community representatives at various levels to express their disappointment at the hateful allegations levelled against the Muslim Community. In this regard, SFL Muslim Federation leaders met with elected officials on Sunday January 14 in Coral Springs. Federation leaders presented their point of view and what the conference is all about and what it means for the community. The elected officials in attendance expressed their support and condemned hate and harassment against any community. Among them was also Laurie Isacowitz Plotnick, who had posted a SM message in support of SOFLO Muslim Conference cancellation. Following Sunday’s meeting, she posted another message expressing her condemnation of false and hateful messages being shared without verification.
