Recognizing our community’s need for an Islamic guided program tailored to deal with teenagers outside of a formal classroom setting, we are happy to announce a new program that will be led with highly qualified American born Muslim instructors/mentors for boys and girls.

Mentor for Sisters is Maram Buhairi, EdD, who is a South Florida native and holds a Doctorate degree in education.

Mentor for Boys is Muhammed Ziadeh, MS in K-12 grade student counseling, with 16 years of experience working in a family, career, and drug addiction counseling. Currently works with Broward County Sherriff Office on drug addiction counseling.

What: The program offers a safe place for teenagers 14 years and up to discuss issues they deal with from an Islamic perspective This will help them grow as confident happy Muslims in this society. It includes Islamic learning and research, skills development such as computer skills, field visits to non-profit organizations, guest speakers, volunteer opportunities. Participants may receive volunteer hours.

Where: Islamic Center of South Florida Saturday / Weekend School (Pompano Beach).

When: Every Saturday of the weekend school at the same time as the school from 11:00 AM to 3:15 PM.
