Today, we are deeply saddened and shocked by the death of Vice Mayor Nancy Mateyor Bowen. This represents a significant loss for the City of Coral Springs and South Florida as a whole.

Nancy was a guiding light—an unwavering advocate for inclusion and a dedicated supporter of justice and equality. We have lost not only a leader but also a dear friend. She firmly believed in the dignity of every individual and embodied that belief daily. She consistently stood her ground against hate, prioritizing her principles over personal interests.

Our sincere condolences go to her family, friends, and everyone affected by her life and service.
