Imam Dawud Walid, Executive Director of CAIR-MI and author and co-author of books on Black Muslims narrative, was in South Florida last week to talk about his latest book, ‘Futuwwa and Raising Males into Sacred Manhood’.
The book discusses Futuwwa- manhood or spiritual chivalry. It talks about ‘males, and the specific issues faced by males as they strive to grow into the path of manhood….’ It calls upon a ‘revival of organized training relating to spiritual chivalry and sacred manhood’. In order to talk about his book and the crucial subject of raising men on Islamic tradition, Imam Dawud spoke at special community events, including family night at Islamic Foundation of South Florida (IFSF) and Islamic Center of South Florida (ICOSF), and an interactive session at Sanad Trust Foundation.
